We serve private and public school for all grades and ages as well as dance schools or art and cultural centers. We also participate in other events, workshops or conferences. The following are the two different types of educational programs Mamachee offers:

Dance Classes

We offer various dance classes for any level and age. Dance classes are available in various styles such as:

- African

- Belly-Dance

- Salsa

- Hip-Hop

- Caribbean

- Street-Jazz

- Modern & Contemporary

- Ballet

Every class is composed of two components: theory and practice. The theoretical part includes both historical and anthropological aspects of dance; the role and history of dance in various cultures and societies. The practical part includes traditional steps and dance and traditional songs depending on/according to the dance style; learning choreography; creativity and free-styles; and of course performance.

The second type of educational program Mamachee offers is a special art program based on moral values and virtues called the “Cultural Exchange Program” and “Empower values through arts”.

Cultural Exchange Program

Culture is the customary beliefs, social forms, and material traits of a racial, religious, or social group. It is a whole human, moral and social value system through which men and women recognize their belonging to a same motherland. (Dictionnary) It is also through arts that it is possible to discover the culture and characteristics of one country.

A famous French poet, Francois Rabelais, said that "Ignorance is the root of all the troubles." The total ignorance and the lack of familiarity or knowledge about a culture can stimulate prejudices, fears or misunderstandings. However, cultural diversity opens up the world and brings people together.

Mamachee will create a meeting place for cultural dances and traditional aspects and art forms. This program seeks to facilitate cultural and artistic exchanges and friendship among people and widen their horizon by expanding their knowledge and understanding and create a cultural bridge between different cultures. It will also help to lessen neighborhood tensions and to eliminate discrimination and prejudices. Also, we hope to inspire and inform people about the advantages of unity in diversity in a context of mutual understanding, sympathy, and cooperation.

The beauty, creativity and capacities of each person and each culture can be brought together just as the beauty of a garden with a multitude of flowers and fragrances is made rich by its diversity. Each Mamachee workshop, class and performance uses the varied beauty and resourcefulness of dance, music, and art to touch the hearts and the creative souls of each person.

In this sense, Mamachee reflects the philosophy of the organization whose goal is to raise awareness of various culture’s rich history of art, music, and dance and to bring people together through the common appreciation of unity in diversity.

Empowering Moral Values Through Art:

In Mamachee, we believe in this quotation:“ Regard man as a mine rich in gems of inestimable value. Education can, alone, cause it to reveal its treasures, and enable mankind to benefit therefrom.” (Baha'u'llah, founder of Baha'i Faith).

At school with their fellow students, or in an environment with other people, children and youth experience conflicts, prejudices, stereotypes, bullying and intolerance. They feel a lot of injustice and unfair treatment in their lives and see it in the world. However, they have the energy, the will, the capacity, and a strong sense of justice to solve these issues.

Fostering and preserving a safe learning environment means creating a climate of tolerance in which all students are comfortable and secure and can fully develop their skills and capacities.

Assisting young people with the understanding and skills necessary to anticipate and better handle the pressures of life will not only eliminate violence, substance abuse and truancy in schools, but will also prepare them for a more productive future. Through dance and dramatic performance, Mamachee brings youth in direct contact with these issues.

The arts are an important mode for youth to discover new ways of learning, communicating, working cooperatively and behaving. Arts programs foster social competence, problem-solving skills, and also a sense of service, self-worth, and of purpose and future.

Mamachee uses arts and dance as catalysts for a positive change and empowers children and youth to make an impact in their schools, community and in the world . Our goal is to inspire them, motivate and activate their personal commitment around causes like education, poverty, violence, racism, inequality, environment, drugs and positive actions...in order to become role models for their peers and make their environment and the world stronger and better.

Mamachee provides innovative programs that offer tools to empower children and youth to create extraordinary results in their lives, their school, their communities and in the greater world. Mamachee teams will lead students through artistice exercices, cultural exchange and discussions which build discipline, focus, and communication skills.  Students will learn how to use their creativity to take concrete actions and create positive projects while

broadening their cultural horizons.

Ultimately,Youth will examine their current beliefs and design what kind of leader they wish to be in the world.

With this program, Mamachee aims to stem the tide of violence and intolerance in schools and to prepare our children and youths for a positive, productive future.

Following performances by Mamachee Dance company on topics such as racism, drugs, inequality or poverty, Mamachee staff will work with students in dance, theatre, music, and fine arts to elaborate and create on the themes presented during the performance. Through weekly workshops, Mamachee staff will help students identify the issues impacting their lives and the world, and will teach them how to express these experiences through dance, music, poetry, dramatic performance and other artistic expressions. Students will develop artistic skills focusing on the issues they identify to be presented at a school-wide assembly, or at community events,...and create a service project that will answer positively to these issues.

As they take ownership of their project,  Students will not only be participants, but will also become actors in the program and get involved from the beginning by creating their own project, reflect, create and work together.

This program includes:

  • Dance performances by Mamachee International dance company on world issues such as racism, inequality, violence, substance abuse, sexism, poverty, the environment...
