Mamachee has been sponsoring children’s education in Niger and is currently sending 3 girls to school since 2013. Our goal is to complete their education until high school. It is for us important to fully complete their education as they are coming from disadvantaged families and will not be able to get access to education otherwise.

 

Niger is unfortunately every year last country of the world and the poverty rate is very high.The United Nations numbers states that the litteracy rate is 53% for boys and only 23% for girls. This gap prevents equality of chances,universal education for all and empowerment of women that is part of the UN Millenium development goals.This is the reason why Mamachee decided to help girls in Niger and fully complete their education.

 

We have been working directly with 3 schools (Ecole Alliance, Lycée Enoch Olinga and Hampaté Ba College) together with the Hampaté Ba organization that is making sure that all the education needs of the girls there are fulfilled.

 

Yasmina is currently studying in Ecole Alliance in Niamey and Safiatou and Aissata are studying in Hampate Ba College in Niamey. They all received sponsorship from Mamachee for their education in these 2 schools.

 

To be able to continue sponsoring their education, Mamachee organizes various artistic and cultural classes, workshops and programs with Mamachee International Dance Company and the Mamachee Cultural and Humanitarian Dance school; where part of the proceeds are donated to the Mamachee Education project in Niger to ensure the continuation of the schooling of our 3 girls. Mamachee also organizes specific fundraiser events where all the proceeds are donated to this cause in order to keep raising money for their studies and possibly help many other children to get a full education.
